Museum of British Colonialism: An African Digital Heritage Project

The Museum of British Colonialism looks at the Mau Mau conflict of the 1950s in Kenya through the sites and stories connected with this. Using 3D reconstructions of the sites, interactive maps, and photographic imagery, the MauMau Emergency exhibition is an online first exhibition that positions digital tools as a way to reach larger audiences.

The project was made possible in collaboration with the African Digital Heritage organization, a non-profit group working with digital tools for heritage, their

"mission is to empower African cultural heritage sectors through the use of technologies in aspects such as digitization of assets, digital engagement and digital storytelling."
