Dina Ramadan's article on Africa is a Country talks about Julie Mehretu's "multilayered and multi-referential'  paintings as an engagement with space in different layers, visual maps of sorts that are described as 'storymaps of no location'. The centrifugal lines reminiscent of movement and migration and evoking architectural drawings.
